Formal Partners
Canada's national network advancing conservation finance. InSight Biodiversity has been invited to become formal Hub Partners, connecting us to a national community of conservation finance practitioners, funders, and Indigenous-led organizations.

The focus of our current work is grounded in the Savimbo Indicator Species Biodiversity Methodology (ISBM), co-developed by Indigenous stewards in the Colombian Amazon. InSight Biodiversity is not affiliated with Savimbo financially or organizationally — we are independent practitioners of their open-source methodology, supporting projects to pilot and adapt it under Indigenous governance in BC.
Indigenous-designed ISBM methodology. Co-developed by the Kamentša, Cofan, Pasto, Emberá Chami, and Inga peoples of the Colombian Amazon.

Before pilot projects can begin, the groundwork must be laid carefully and respectfully. Our Readiness and Engagement Phase covers the next 6–12 months of relationship-building with BC First Nations and Indigenous Communities, technical baseline development for application with ISBM framework, co-design of governance frameworks, and pilot project funding proposals. These are essential pieces of the foundation that makes high-integrity, community-led biodiversity credit projects possible. We are seeking philanthropic and conservation finance partners to support this phase. If your organization funds the support early-stage conservation infrastructure in BC, we'd welcome a conversation.
Contact Us →As we move from readiness into active pilot development, we will be supporting BC First Nations and Indigenous Communities in co-designing and launching some of the first Indigenous-led biodiversity credit projects in the province. Funding at this stage directly supports various project functions, including governance frameworks, indicator species monitoring programs, credit verification, and fair wages for all project team members.
Beyond these, and the credits themselves, a well-designed pilot project can generate a cascade of benefits for participating communities and the broader conservation landscape:
🌿 Conservation Funding & Alignment
⚖️ Governance, Rights & Influence
📊 Knowledge, Data & Capacity
👥 Community Jobs & Skills
🛡️ Reduced Risk & Future Readiness
If your organization is interested in supporting or co-investing in a high-integrity, Indigenous-governed biodiversity credit pilot project in BC, we'd like to hear from you.
